Philanthropic Work
A Direct 5 percent of all proceeds from the sales of this book in addition to direct book purchases/book donations will support children’s literacy programs in Sebastian’s hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida—and, with hope, eventually in other cities, schools, and literacy outreach programs.
The Tooth Goblin cares and will be fostering group readings, supporting community outreach, and showing up in ways that matter.

Sebastian loved reading and being read to.
The magic of reading is not only a great way to nurture imagination but to cultivate real life problem solving skills.
Children’s literacy programs are vital for cognitive, social, and economic development.
-
• 85% of brain development happens by age 5 (Urban Child Institute).
• Children who are not reading proficiently by 3rd grade are 4 times more likely to drop out of high school (Annie E. Casey Foundation).
-
• Participation in high-quality early literacy programs increases kindergarten readiness by up to 40% (National Institute for Early Education Research).
• Students with access to literacy programs score higher on standardized tests across subjects.
-
• Every dollar invested in early childhood education returns up to $7 in economic benefits through improved education, health, and reduced crime (Heckman Equation).
• Adults with low literacy skills are more likely to be unemployed and earn 30-42% less income on average (National Center for Education Statistics).
-
• Children exposed to books and storytelling show better emotional regulation and stronger empathy skills.
• Reading aloud to children improves parent-child bonding and language development (Reach Out and Read).
-
• Children from low-income families hear 30 million fewer words by age 3 than their wealthier peers (Hart & Risley, 1995).
• Access to books in the home is strongly correlated with academic success—having just 20 books in the home can lead to two more years of schooling on average (Evans et al., 2010).
-
It Boosts language skills, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Improve confidence and communication abilities.
• Lower the risk of academic failure and dropout.
• Foster lifelong learning habits.
• Encourage creativity and critical thinking.
